My Commitment to Mentor Schools

I am honored to be running for a seat on the Mentor School Board.

If elected, my focus will be threefold: academic excellence, student safety, and fiscal responsibility.

Academic excellence and career readiness are crucial. Whether it's through technical education, effective IEP management, or advanced placement courses, I want to ensure that every student has the tools to succeed, whether they’re headed to college, a trade school, or the workforce.

We need to meet each student’s needs on an individual level, preparing them for their future.

Second, safety is always a priority. I support the district’s plan to have School Safety Officers in every building, and I’m committed to working closely with the Mentor Police Department to ensure our schools remain safe and welcoming environments.

Additionally, I’ll work with the community and school staff to address student behavior, combining guidance and discipline to create a positive school culture.

Finally, I’ve been impressed by Mentor Schools’ track record of delivering quality results while maintaining fiscal responsibility. I’ll continue that tradition and work to ensure that our financial resources are managed effectively and responsibly.

One of the most exciting opportunities if elected will be to help implement the district’s strategic plan, “Framework for the Future.” This plan is ambitious and student-centered, carefully balancing fiscal responsibility with resource management. I’m eager to be part of this process and help ensure its success.

Like many community members, I am acutely aware of the dysfunction and division on our current board. I promise to provide a voice of reason, to listen rather than to shout, and to behave in a way that sets a good example for our kids and our community.

As a corporate leader with experience working with people with varying life experiences and outlooks, I bring a collaborative, results-driven mindset that focuses on solutions. I’m committed to working respectfully with all members of the board and the community, keeping our students’ best interests at the forefront.

Our schools are the backbone of this community, and if elected, I’ll work tirelessly to maintain and enhance the quality of education we offer.

I see this as an opportunity to give back, not only to our kids but to the community as a whole, creating a brighter future for everyone.

Meet Dan!

My wife, Jessica, and I have been married for 21 years. We have three amazing daughters who are the absolute center of our lives. I received my bachelor's degree from Kent State, hold a JD from Cleveland State University, and have worked at Progressive Insurance for 20 years in increasingly complex roles. Some of my favorite things are Cleveland sports, Podcasts, my backyard, road trips with my girls, and spending time with my large extended family.
