Why I am running for the Mentor School Board

I believe that public schools are a cornerstone of any community and that a strong school district makes for a strong city.

I moved to Mentor with my wife and three daughters in 2019. Our move to Mentor from the Westside of Cleveland was spurred by our realization that the parochial school our girls attended did not have the resources to provide the level of education and opportunity we wanted for them.

Looking at communities across Cuyahoga, Lake, and Lorain counties, we chose Mentor because of the strength of the school system, the city services, and the affordable housing.

Mentor has been a great place for my family, and I want to ensure that it continues to be a great place for others.

Now, I want to give back by running for the school board.

I see Mentor as a place of potential, and I want to build on its successes, address areas in need of improvement, and work toward a bright future for all our students.

My Priorities for Mentor Schools

Academic Excellence

Fiscal Responsibility

Fiscal Responsibility

Every child deserves a quality education. I am committed to educational excellence at every grade level and support the District's efforts to maintain and improve our State Scores. Teachers are the core of our success and I will listen to our educators and work with them, and with families, to provide the very best academic outcomes for our District.

Fiscal Responsibility

Fiscal Responsibility

Fiscal Responsibility

Schools are the center of our communities. I promise to carefully monitor our fiscal standing, use of resources, and quality of services to the end of benefitting every Mentor resident. I will take the use of our tax dollars very seriously - the District owes that to our taxpayers.

Safety

Fiscal Responsibility

Safety

Students deserve to be safe at school. I support the current plan to ensure that there is a school security officer at each district building. I will actively and cooperatively address bullying its causes, ramifications and impacts.
